Weird Science

My sister returned from her skiing trip today. I saw her briefly but we couldn't chat properly because my niece Anjelica AKA Ears was with her. We have much catching up to do so I'm really looking forward to seeing her. She has pictures which I am dying to see, and a reserve store of advice which I am dying to hear.

Had a good chat with 'Muffin earlier about our respectively disastrous lovelives. He's trying to get over Lila and was lamenting his single status. Again.

'Muffin: Here is what I need:
'Muffin: A mixture of you, Weezer, Oz, and a dash of Lila.
Chica: Oz?
'Muffin: (The librarian element.)
Chica: I just want Alfie, undiluted. But maybe a bit concussed or something...
'Muffin: LOL
'Muffin: You don't want him!
'Muffin: You don't need him!
'Muffin: I forbid you!

While we were chatting he forced me to critique some of the photographs of him. He has this whole complex since one of his friends told him all the girls he likes are out of his league so now I'm constantly having to reassure him that he isn't 'a mingah'. Whilst we were doing so I noticed that two fabulous girls I am now forever indebted to, Heather and Wondy, had both left comments on a pic of Alfie and I nearly choked on my own laughter while I was reading them. You both rule. And I will have Wondy's babies for that Quentin Crisp line.

Cold Comfort

Okay. This week has been pretty hectic. I didn't really explain the context of the last post very well, but I was a bit hyper when I wrote it. And anyway, I think you get the gist.

I've been texting him quite steadily since that. He's been requesting naughty pics again and, AND, he came into work on Thursday looking for me, but I'd booked a half day to have lunch with Dedalus. He text me: Just been into work thinking I was getting a rendezvous and you haven't the decency to be there. Tut tut. He asked 'Muffin where I was.

Today, he came in again to hand in some work, but I was just about to finish. I hung around for a bit talking to him but then he went to get something to eat fom the canteen. I thought it looked a bit dodgy for me to be hanging about and started to leave. He caught me on my way out as he was coming back from the canteen and was like, "I was just gonna text you, I thought we could rendezvous?" And I was like, "Oh what a shame, I'm just leaving, see you later." Ha! Then kicking myself up and down the high street.

Actually, I've just clicked. I said, 'rendezvous when?' and he said 'now', I pointed to his plate of food and said 'now???' and he hurriedly started eating. Then I laughed and said see you later again. Doh. I would have felt an idiot waiting though.

When he first came in, I heard his voice, never even had to see him, stood up and walked straight into the staff room, grabbed my bag and went and put make up on in the toilets! If my boss had walked in and caught me applying mascara when I was meant to be processing holds I think she may have had something to say.

Anyhoo. We'd been sending each other some pretty naughty messages and so he wanted to know what I'd been thinking about that night. So I told him I'd tell him after I'd had a cocktail with my sister, who I was meeting at 3 o'clock. Cocktail hour! I went shopping first and it was really rubbish, couldn't spot a single date outfit, and I'm prepared to pay out. I can't get the dress I'm in love with from Monsoon because they don't have my size and I ended up just buying bits from The Body Shop and underwear for the Boyf.

Then I met my sister and her friends and after about two seconds it became clear that my sister had told her best friend all about Alfie and therefore she wanted to know some details. I spared her the amount of detail I offer up to you guys and just basically told her I liked him but things were complicated. They wanted to know what he looked like so I text Alfie and demanded a photo! Hey, I had a glass of Southern Comfort in my hand and was feeling brave. I also told him that my sister wanted to meet him and that I like the way he smells :P

Anyway, after a spate of texting and gossiping with the girls, I caught the bus home. I could've stayed out but my sister and her friends were really indecisive about where to go and my boots were absolutely killing me. I must have marched the length and breadth of Liverpool City Centre about three times today. Ouch. It just wasn't worth it for some body butter and undies, not to mention missing out on some Alfie loving!

I have crappy timing.

Corporation t-shirt, frickin' brilliant Tuesday

You know that song, I don't know what it's called, but there's a lyric that goes: last night a DJ saved my life? Well, that's going round in my head, but with the word t-shirt instead of DJ.

On Sunday I had a girlie day with my sister. We went shopping. I got holes punched in my ears. All very relaxing. (I'll come back to that.) In Zara, I spotted this great t-shirt. It had the crushes name on it, followed by the words, "This is my Boyfriend," and with the slogan "Personal Office Stories." Well, I nearly fell over when I saw it, I couldn't believe the coincidence. I dragged my sister into the shop to show her, and she forced me to buy it.

I wore it to work Monday. He approved. Then I sent him an e-mail saying "tomorrow I'm gonna wear one that says 'player' xx". I sent it at 9:07, and as you can see from my speechless post, they just kept on coming. He emailed me 16 times! Yes, I counted! And as you may also be able to see from the final email, things just kept getting hotter!

It wasn't just flirting. We had a really good chat in the staff room at lunch, not about anything important and other people were there, but it was just nice to talk to him like a normal human being. He made the effort to talk to me too. I was a very happy bunny and extra super nice to everyone I served!

And it wasn't just the content of the emails but the fact that every time he came downstairs I caught him looking at me. He even complained a couple of times that I hadn't emailed him back yet. I felt amazing.

Then today, I kind of went all out and wore a sexy grey backless polo neck jumper affair, with a black and grey tweed miniskirt and leggings (I know!) I got loads of compliments and 'Muffin went on about how gorgeous I was in front of him, bless his cotton socks! Himself was like, "Are you trying to impress somebody?" and flashed me a really cheeky grin. Later, he was stood behind Sassy at reception and he just gave me this really sexy look. I wanted to rip his clothes off right there. But I got all shy and looked away and I heard Sassy say something and he said, "I'm just smiling at her." Then he came over and asked P.Diddy what he thought of my outfit. P. said I looked lovely and I said P. was a gentleman and would never say anything different. Himself laughed and P. said "I'll tell you later."

Didn't see him much more for the rest of the day but as he left at five he said he'd meant to email me but he'd been in a meeting all afternoon, and that he liked the outfit :)

As I've been writing this, actually when I typed the words "I wanted to rip his clothes off right there", he's turned up unexpectedly. More later!

Flirting With Disaster

Since 'Muffin and I have apparently regressed about a decade and are acting like a couple of lovesick teenagers in the first flushes of their first proper crushes (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!), we have devised a code for talking about the people we fancy at work. 'Muffin's crush is Ford, and my crush is Himself. Hardly one for the Enigma I know but we seem to be able to amuse ourselves for hours using these names and teasing each other. 'Muffin has made it his mission to see if he can make me blush continuously for a whole day, but to be honest, I'm giving him a lot of fodder, as in this exchange earlier today:

'Muffin: I want my Ford!!!
Chica: I want Himself half naked and tied to an office chair, but there we go.

According to 'Muffin, my crush on Himself has put a spring in my step, made me more playful and tactile, and he likes it. Shame Himself is leaving in three weeks and I'll have to go back to my old, gloomy, serious self then!

In accordance with my new, risque persona, 'Muffin and I have put together a flirting agenda. Now, before I even realised that I was annoyingly besotted with Himself, we had all decided to go on a night out at the end of the month, as part of 'Muffin and Crunchie's Mission. Before that happens, 'Muffin is going to drop a few hints to Himself that I have a bit of a soft spot for him. Why, when I have a boyfriend you ask? Good question. I'll get back to you on that!

Obviously the more important question is what the bejesus am I going to wear? A dress more suited to a sixteen year old attending her prom, I hear you shout? You're right (maybe!) For those of you on my Flickr list, see the pics of my niece! Mmmm Hmmm, that's right. Do ya dare me? :P

I can't believe she'll actually lend me it since it cost her a ruddy fortune! And you know, I still might not go there. I mean, it's pretty but it's really very... "hello, here are my breasts." I don't fancy him that frickin much!

I told my sis why I wanted something fab to wear, which is when she volunteered the dress, via text:

Big Sis: Thats terrible ur practically married haha, u go girl! dont b daft it would look lovely and of course Tink wouldnt mind she'd b chuffed. And by the way u dont need a dress to knock his socks off! x

Chica: Think I'd need a stick of dynamite to knock this guys socks off! I know Im practically married, but I'm not dead! :) x

What The Fuck am I doing?!

P.S. If you are popping over to Flickr, you can also see the object of all this idiocy. He's Cravat Man. No, really!

What's Up Doc?

Monday again. If I wasn't flitting off to France in two weeks time, I would be a very gloomy person indeed! The weekend was very chilled for me, watched the Big Brother finale - I love how Davina is pregnant for every other one - had a movie marathon, and took in enough stray animals to make Noah look like an amateur.

That last one needs explaining huh?

My sister took her kids and the bane of her life (Grinch) on holiday this week and left Anjelica's menagerie with me for safe keeping. After resisting the tantrums, hopeful requests, and letters to Father Christmas for eight years, my sister finally relented and allowed a pet to enter the super-clean zone that is her house. My sister has a problem with the mere suggestion of dirt. By the age of two, her children had been trained to fix the fringe of the living room rug whenever an errant footstep dared to mess it up. Actually, she did once allow them to keep a tiny little yellow bird in a cage. It was regularly bathed in soapy water.

However, for her eighth birthday, Anjelica received some living, breathing, fur-moulting, pooping, pee-all-over-your-new-sweater gifts. Gift 1) a floppy eared rabbit christened Thumper Jane. Gift 2) an inquisitive hamster going by the name of Princess. Gift 3) A butterfly farm, which currently houses approximately six cocoons. These are all currently residing at my address, along with 2 goldfish who claim to be Scooby and Scrappy. I am literally obliged to "put 'em up."

She'd have been better off buying a puppy. Am I right? At least you can walk a puppy. Goldfish are not happy about being dragged around the park to do their business. And speaking of puppies, I finally managed to get mine to fetch a ball. Unfortunately, the hamster was in it at the time.

Puppy is supremely unimpressed with the invasion of his space. He hasn't yet tired of barking, growling, scratching at the cages of, pretending to make friends with and then slyly nipping, our guests from the animal kingdom. See, in our house, Puppy is the King. He's the Godfather. He's got a paw in every pie, a dame in every port, he even has one of those little white caps that keep his dog food fresh. Not to mention a very cushy arrangement that keeps his happy pills and dog biscuits coming in nice and regular. And now he has these young bucks on his turf - well, you can imagine how he must feel, days away from his tenth birthday, to have to contend with such obnoxious intruders.

It's like a frickin' Quentin Tarantino movie in here right now!
